Paul Cozby

Clients say he quickly grasps the essence of their mission and translates that into compelling message that support their vision and dreams.

Paul Cozby is a Senior Writer for Jerold Panas, Linzy & Partners. He has more than three decades of experience in journalism, public relations, editing, and non-profit communications.

Paul launched his professional writing career in the Dallas-Fort Worth area at the Arlington Daily News. In what The Washington Post described as the nation’s most competitive news market outside New York, he joined a team of young reporters whose aggressive coverage and winning writing style doubled the paper’s circulation in one year. Major dailies soon hired away all the paper’s top beat reporters and editors with Paul joining the Pulitzer Prize-winning Fort Worth Star-Telegram as a business writer.

A break for master’s studies at the University of Texas at Arlington led to Paul’s winning the first E.C. Barksdale Essays in History writing competition and earning a Fulbright Scholarship for a year’s study at the University of Stuttgart.

Resuming his journalism career, Paul spent nearly five years in Germany as a bureau chief, assistant features editor and city editor in charge of all news gathering at The European Stars and Stripes. Eventually, Paul would become editor and publisher of The Fort Worth Business Press and founder and owner of a chain of local weekly newspapers in the burgeoning North Texas area.

Paul is also an award-winning playwright. He wrote The Fish Wrappers, a comedy produced for the stage and based on his experiences in small town papers. He continues to enjoy creative writing.

Paul has built his writing practice with clients in the entertainment, finance and non-profit sectors. He has served as the theater expert for About.com, an online information site visited monthly by 90 million users; developed press kits and media materials for films, books and television; worked with non-profit organizations to brand and promote their activities; and placed articles in a variety of online outlets.
