Building a Championship Team
The other day, I was with the fundraising staff of Western Michigan University. In recent years, their philanthropic revenue has quadrupled.
They gave me an amazing document. I had never seen anything quite like this before. It was developed by Jim Thomas who heads the fundraising program.
It is a call to action. It asks the staff to stand on tiptoes to reach high standards.
In it, Jim describes six areas he wishes to have the staff focus on:
Service
Engagement
Congeniality
Communication
Relationship tracking
Professionalism
This is a piece you are going to want to review. And perhaps use as a guide for your own department. Jim has called it, “Building a Championship Team.” And that’s precisely what he has done. You will also.
